b•v-h à DOC
Each year, each month a small success of DOC to be continuing our exhibition program. All along we are equipped with the visual identity by Toan Vu-Huu and André Baldinger to appear in the virtual space and the streets of Paris. Our mutual contract is based on a common interest in contemporary art that allows us to meet on common grounds of this visual métier.
Full of joy, inventiveness and wit, some 28 maximum size posters were created for announcing the shows here; the 28th being their own.
This show is a show on past shows and one of its own. There is even a hidden show in the show: The look through your device will reveal a prolongation of the show. A slight confusion of what is created with a purpose in the past and what was meant to be a moment in the virtual space. b•v-h present their graphic work in its own life. They ask themselves: «How do two graphic systems behave with each other on the same support? Can we isolate a visual identity from its master in order to appreciate it as an autonomous object?»
The object here is the visceral effects that guide us through the complex surfaces in urban space. To isolate this object means to confront us with our own workings of perception. The information becomes innate to its surface material on which it appears. We are suffused with the augmented dreams of signs.
